SMSAlert Text Messaging? Sure!

How to send SMS via your email account:
1.To access the service select the “Utilities” folder from your side mailbox bar then click on “SMS Utilities”.
2. In the main frame there will now be an option to click on the “Compose SMS message” link. This will open a window where you can enter SMS details:
Fill in the required fields:
From: This field is to display your mobile phone number. If the field is empty please type in your phone number as follows:
[country code][area code minus starting 0's][remainder of number]
For example a US mobile phone number 0208 7044627 would become 1 208 7044627
To set your phone number here permanently or to change your mobile phone number please see “User profile” in the Utilities folder, and specify a “Cellular No.”
Country: Select the county of the recipient. For example if you are sending a message to someone in Sydney, please select country Australia.
Number: Type in the mobile number of the recipient. For example an Australian mobile phone number 0414 731 307 would be entered as : 414731307. You do not need to enter the country code in this field.
3. Type your SMS message in the box. The counter in the top right hand side will show how many characters you have remaining. 4.Once the SMS has been completed and all fields have been entered, click “Send”. The message will then appear in the “SMS Logs” which you can view from the SMS Utilities page.
Notification of emails via SMS
The SMS service will allow you to receive an SMS notification of new emails recieved to your account. Using the Filters utility, you can set the criteria of which emails emails you are SMS notified about.
How to set up SMS filters:
1.To access the service select the “Utilities” folder from your side mailbox bar then click “SMS Utilities” and “SMS filters”
2. To be alerted of all emails tagged as ‘high priority” in the message headers, select the checkbox and save the filter
3. Fill in the fields you would like to set. Note: You don’t need to enter criteria for both fields.
Email subject: Specify key words in the subject. “Equal” will notify you only of subject lines with the exact match of this keyword, while “like” will match all subject lines with this key word.
For example: if you set “ABC newsletter” as the email subject with “Equal” you will only receive notifications with “ABC newsletter” as the subject line.
If you set “ABC newsletter” as the email subject with “Like” you will receive notifications with subject line such as “Re:ABC newsletter” or “ABC newsletter update” as the subject line.
Email from: Specify sender of the email. “Equal” will notify you only of senders with the exact match of this keyword, while “like” will match all senders with this key word.
For example: if you set “ rover@hotmail.com ” as the email subject with “Equal” you will only receive notifications from rover@hotmail.com
If you set “Hotmail” as the sender with “Like” you will receive notifications from all email address’s with the word ‘hotmail’ in it (e.g jim@myhotmail.com.au , miss rover@hotmail.com )

Mobile phone : Enter the mobile phone number you would like to have the SMS notifications sent to. You will need to enter the phone number with the country code. For example a US mobile phone number 0208 7044627 would be entered as :1 208 7044627.
4. Select “Save Settings”. This will add the filter in the above list. If you would like to remove the filter check the box then “delete selected”.
Purchasing credits
Before you can send SMS messages you need to purchase credits. You can purchase via your email account using a valid credit card.
How to purchase credits:
1.To access the service select the “Utilities” folder from your side mailbox bar then click on “SMS Utilities” and “My SMS credit”
2. Fill in the required fields:
Purchase price : Here you can select the number of credits you would like to purchase. One credit is equal to one SMS message. The more SMS messages you purchase, the cheaper the SMS messages become.
Card Type: Select the type of credit card you are using to purchase.
Card holder name: Enter the full name as appears on the credit card. If the credit card is not in your name you will need permission from the Card-Holder before entering details.
Card Number: Full credit card number
Expiry date: Month then year.
3.Once you click on “purchase” your order will be processed. If the card is unsuccessful you will receive a pop-up message. Otherwise the credits will be added to your total shown above.
